When we talk about building your blog in this post, we will focus more on the general content and tone for it to be a pre-sell site. Appearance may not really be a number one priority at this point though if you have the means and resources would be a definite advantage (especially when you can outsource it). The blogsite we are referring by the way, is not like this site which is more of an info-blog. What you need is more of a personal-type of site. Also, we will not be discussing the nitty gritty procedures in creating an actual blog site. A little bit of SEO tips will pop once in a while, but we’ll discuss this in detail in coming posts.
So why are we prioritizing more on the content? Because any SEO (search engine optimization) person will tell you that content in any site is “The Absolute KING”. Maybe you have already heard this or if not, pretty soon you will. I have seen a number of blog sites and static websites with “less appeal to the eyes” yet make it to the top 20 page ranks (PR) simply because of the rich content of the site (and of course some SEO tricks).
And why a personal-type of blog? The personal type of blog creates instant connection with your readers, which later become subscribers then customers, then loyal followers. This type of tone is actually one of the key ingredients in making social portals.
Majority of people today are so numbed and overwhelmed by the combined volume of ads, promotions and commercials they recieve daily in all media sources (tv, radio, papers, emails, billboards, etc.). This has caused people to ”close their doors” on such noise and just play deaf on all these unwanted info barrage.
By having a personal blog, you can literally open these closed doors and allow a private passage that can connect you to your readers. Now, if what you write captures your readers’ interests, attention, and most specially trust, then you are on your way to having your captured market. If your blog is made in a way that readers, the author and other subscribers can connect, you will have an instant community!
By now you have a pretty good idea that the pre sell part of your site is really nothing less than making a relationship between you and your readers …and that is all there is. Though easy as it may sound, this phase is most of the time the hardest to develop if you don’t know how to do it. But if you have the blueprint to this common stumbling block, you will have a very big client based loyal followers and not just ordinary leads.
It really doesn’t matter if you have few subscribers in your first few months. The important thing is you already created an atmosphere in your blog that it is more like a home to tour visitors than a house. And with such atmosphere , it won’t take long until your clients will find you more than you finding your clients. (to be continued…)
